Rerope was created out of a need to upcycle the upcycled. Owner and founder, Allison Davidson Motoyama, created rerope as a way to upcycle unused material from sister company, Dona Bela Shreds, which upcycles textile remnants and creates eco-friendly fashion accessories.
Dona Bela Shreds was founded in 2010 and created a process of upcycling textile remnantstocreateanew fashion forward productline While this processof upcycling was fun, exciting and innovative, Allison encountered a big problem: What to do with the new unused textile remnants we cannot use for fashion accessories? Of course, disregarding them was not an option. A new generation of upcycling was created after 10 years of deliberating - and it came in the form of rope.
