our story

Rerope was created out of a need to upcycle the upcycled. Owner and founder, Allison Davidson Motoyama, created rerope as a way to upcycle unused material from sister company, Dona Bela Shreds, which upcycles textile remnants and creates eco-friendly fashion accessories.

Dona Bela Shreds was founded in 2010 and created a process of upcycling textile remnantstocreateanew fashion forward productline While this processof upcycling was fun, exciting and innovative, Allison encountered a big problem: What to do with the new unused textile remnants we cannot use for fashion accessories? Of course, disregarding them was not an option. A new generation of upcycling was created after 10 years of deliberating - and it came in the form of rope.

The solution: The creation of rerope, an eco-friendly pet product company that features beautiful handmade leashes and pet toys.

The colors of rerope are so fun to create and the passion to create an alternative eco-friendly product line, and to give back to local communities is the main focus of the company. There are so many ways to bring new life to unused materials. In fact, Allison is currently comping up with a creative way to upcycles textile scraps that exist from the creation of rerope products. Say tuned! ;)

ReRope eco-positive pet leashes transform upcycled textile remnants into sustainably entwined colorful rope creations. ReRope offers thousands of thoughtfully curated, limited edition color combinations that are all handmade in Des Moines, Iowa.
